Job Summary
This position is a comprehensive6-9 month learning experience in Global Supply Chain R&D. The individual will collaborate closely with Chemists and Scientists to integrate data science into R&D processes contributing to the design of better-performing paints. The individual will be assigned Technical Projects that require the application of data science and data analytics skills. A summary of projects will be presented at the conclusion of the addition to fore data science work interns will also contribute to digital initiatives and data visualization projects that support R&D functions. Throughout the assignment the intern will participate in periodic performance reviews engage in special networking and learning events and gain experience working in cross-functional teams and alongside other Interns and Co-ops. This opportunity is designed to provide firsthand experience in a dynamic innovation-driven environment.
The individual selected for this role will work at the new Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center in Brecksville Ohio. This position is 100% on-site. There will be no relocation assistance.
All hires must go through a background check before the start of employment.
Responsibilities
The individual will be working with Chemists and Scientists to integrate data science into R&D to help design better paints.
The individual will be given a Technical Project requiring the use of data science skills.
A summary of this project will be present at the end of their internship.
Students will have periodic reviews to evaluate their performance.
Students will participate in a number of special networking and learning events throughout their assignment.
This opportunity will allow students to gain experience in work groups as well as working with other Interns and Co-ops
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program or higher in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) at the time of the internship program
Experience in Python SQL Data Visualization Tools (Tableau)
Familiarity with Machine Learning Techniques
Understanding of statistical modeling data wrangling data cleaning and data transformation
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total 6-9 months from May-December with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum of 2.8 GPA
Must have completed a minimum of two years of college
Preferred Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in data science
Previously completed an internship or co-op program
Pursuing abachelors in data science or masters degree in data science
