AECOM is seeking an entry-level Environmental Engineer to join our team in the Los Angeles area. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience working on a wide variety of environmental projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and senior staff assisting with both office and field tasks that support environmental compliance investigation and remediation efforts. This is a learning-focused role with opportunities to develop technical skills build industry knowledge and grow within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with environmental field activities such as site investigations soil and groundwater sampling and drilling observation.
- Supporting the preparation of technical reports data tables and figures.
- Performing data entry management and basic analysis under the guidance of senior staff.
- Assisting in the preparation of environmental permit applications and compliance documentation.
- Supporting regulatory research and reviews.
- Participating in health and safety training and maintaining a strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support project deliverables.

Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering Civil Engineering Geology Environmental Science or a related field.
- Valid U.S. Drivers License required to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices.
- As a condition of employment selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
- Due to the nature of work US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or coursework experience in environmental engineering science or related fields.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with California environmental regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with data analysis software a plus.
Additional Information :
- Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not available for this position.
- Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
- This role requires a combination of office and field work; candidates should expect periodic travel within California.
