The Opportunity:

Williams International has anexciting opportunity foran Inspector/CMM Programmer to join our team on 1st shift. The Inspector/CMM Programmer will be responsible for all programming hands on training and supporting the development of advanced inspection practices per GD&T guidelines.

  1. Programming and operation of various coordinate measurement systems optical measurement systems & specialized inspection systems.
  2. Participate in inspection and/ or testing related activities to ensure that parts are manufactured in accordance with the manufacturing standards and specifications.
  3. Programming and/ or create program edits for CMM equipment.
  4. Train first article / last article inspectors on CMM Operations and basic program edits.
  5. Review manufacturing planning with the help of design drawing suggesting improvements with regards to inspection criteria while following best practices.
  6. Work closely with NC Programmers/Process Engineering to create and/or improve on inspection methods and assist in the troubleshooting of manufacturing processes.
  7. Take ownership of parts assigned including inspection FAIR and PPAP as required
  8. Maintain documentation and tooling with regard to CMM measurements following company operating procedures.
  9. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell.
  10. Enforces 5S best practices and ensures that the work area is clean organized and adheres to FOD guidelines.
  11. Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
  12. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.
  13. Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of machined parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.
  14. Assure accurate and repeatable inspection results utilizing best programming practices to aid in timely development and troubleshooting of part machining processes.
  15. Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Work involves practical job knowledge and skills gained from three years of work-related experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience programming Wenzel CMM machines for Revo probing is required. Experience with Zeiss Calypso software is a plus.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience programming Zeiss Rondcom Zeiss Surfcom Klingelnberg P40 and other measurement systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read understand and correctly interpret engineering drawings GD&T callouts and processing planning documents is essential.
  • Effective interaction with team members customers and all levels of management is a must.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches) capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds a grip strength of at least 50 pounds and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
  • U.S. Citizenship status required. Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if needed.
