Job Summary

Position: Operations Specialist (Level I)

Location: Chicago IL

Assignment: 12/29/2025 5/1/2026 (temp to hire)

Pay Range: $21.03 hourly paid weekly.

Schedule: Monday Friday 9am-5pm

Fully Onsite: Please note that this role is required 5 days in office (Hybrid when training is over)

he Fixed Income Currency and Commodities (FICC) & Derivative Core Operations (FDCO) team perform end to end trade control confirmation and settlements processes across FICC businesses and provides utility OTC derivative confirmation and settlement services for non FICC businesses.

Derivatives Operations is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing across a broad range of products. Generally the products supported are complex instruments that require close alignment with the business. A key focus for the organization is establishing strong risk management procedures and controls to ensure the firm and our clients are properly protected. Derivatives Operations is at the forefront of shaping and driving change in the industry with the ultimate aim of delivering greater accuracy control and efficiency for our clients and our business.

Within Derivatives Operations Trade Control (TC) offers operational support and expertise to Sales and Trading Desks external and internal partners and clients. such as investment grade high yield and emerging markets. TC is a team of derivative specialists primarily responsible for the implementation of industry initiatives exception management trade reconciliation clearing and e-trading management. TCs internal business partners include front office Technology Strategists Controllers Credit Risk and other Operations teams. Some functions within TC are also externally facing in respect to managing client queries and novation. Credit Derivative counterparts include institutional clients and broker dealers. Regulatory reform and clearing will have a direct impact to the credit derivatives space and specifically CD MO members will be exposed to industry led initiatives as they unfold. The role does not require specific product knowledge however is considered an advantage. The individual requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team and in a fast paced environment. The qualified candidate will look to succeed in industrialization efforts in order to enhance our processes and strategize our workflows.


*** Responsibilities:
Trade exception resolution.
Ad hoc queries from traders/sales/clients.
Liaise with internal teams on break resolution.
Manage life cycle events allocation support and/or novation management.
Support new products and activities for the credit business.
Industry initiatives and internal enhancements.
Clearing controls
Projects and Project Management
Produce and analyze detailed reporting
Timely response to client queries regarding the settlement of their trades
System break analysis and resolution
Highlight any collateral deficiencies
Liaise with internal partners to ensure proper client reporting and assist with regulatory reporting

*** Requirements:
Derivatives background- knowledge of trade derivates
Knowledge of corporate loans
Intermediate Excel level
Must be client focused with proven track record of excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to an audience
Ability to successfully navigate and connect within a matrix work environment
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
Must be able to operate successfully in a fast paced environment
Must be detail oriented with a heavy focus on monitoring controls and reports
Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work with a wide user group across multiple functions.
Significant control and risk management mindset.

*** Preferred:
Previous experience within a client service team with particular focus on responding to client inquiries
Knowledge of Operational Risk
Credit Derivative and Total Return Swap background
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Knowledge:

  • LIQ/ Loan IQ experience
    Basic Overview:
  • Reviewing credit agreements to determine pricing contract terms requirements etc.
  • Entering data into LIQ the system of recording
  • Work with teams collecting documents answering questions getting confirmation on requirements preparing for the engagement.
  • Occasionally it can require interactions with an Agent Bank but not clients.

  • Attention to Detail

  • Commercial Credit
  • Wholesale Credit
  • Fulfillment Booking/Funding experience (nonresidential)
  • Reading credit agreements
  • Credit Analysis: Ability to assess the creditworthiness of corporate clients.


Desired Skills:
Loan Syndication Knowledge: Understanding of syndicated lending processes and best practices.
Loan Documentation Expertise: Knowledge of loan documentation requirements including familiarity with syndicated and corporate lending agreements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels such as from office equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs
