Overview
Supports the Physician Practice by providing quality individualized care according to established standards.
Responsibilities
General Clinical Practice
- Utilizes accepted processes of care in interactions with all patients to include: documenting symptoms and vital signs and responses to interventions reporting progress to providers.
- Collects assessment data and reports to provider or RN per practice protocol.
- Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the populations served.
- Adheres to the practice standards and procedures of the Practice in the administration of medications and patient care activities per practice protocol.
- Documents care provided using Practice Group standards to include: filing lab results and reporting untoward results to Physician/Practitioner
- Provides education to patient and families based on assessment of learning needs
- Assists Physician/Practitioner with procedures as requested and performs simple lab tests in the office
- Creates and maintains the patient care environment to include: meeting all safety standards maintaining cleanliness and inventory of supplies and sterility/cleanliness of equipment.
- Documents care and progress
- Completes appropriate charging documentation per practice protocol.
- Shares responsibility for prescription line to include calling in refills per hospital protocol
- Medical Assistants (MAs) may administer B12 injections plant PPD tests and administer immunizations as directed by provider.
Triage and Nurse visits RNs ONLY
- Triages phone call from patients to include: assessment of symptoms analyzing urgency of needs advising simple treatments or referring them for immediate care in the Emergency Room or Physicians office
- Conducts Nurse-Only visits as requested by physician.
- Only RNs/LPNs will administer medications and injections (see above exception for MAs).
Qualifications
- MAs / CMAs/RMAs - Certification/registration or successful completion of Clinical and/or Pharmacology coursework is required.
- Graduate of an accredited school is required.
- 0-1 year clinical experience
- Office Practice experience preferred

Licensed LPN with NH eligibility
