The role
The Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Design Engineer to contribute to the future of advanced manufacturing in this role you will apply your expertise in mechanical design CAD modelling and manufacturing processes to develop innovative engineering solutions for diverse projects and stakeholders. Working closely with the Lead Engineer you will design sophisticated mechanical components and systems utilizing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies including subtractive additive and composite manufacturing processes.
As a Design Engineer you will create detailed mechanical designs from concept through to production-ready solutions conducting feasibility studies and evaluating technical viability through analytical methods and simulation tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand design requirements and manufacturability constraints ensuring successful translation from concept to reality.
Your role will involve hands-on participation in prototype fabrication testing and validation providing technical support to troubleshoot design issues and implement improvements based on performance feedback. Additionally you will maintain comprehensive design documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the AMRFs best practices framework.
