This is a full-time (100% FTE) permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.

Monthly Salary: $4508.70 - $6763.06 Monthly Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:

• Positions require a Bachelors degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of progressively responsible relevant experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

• Practical knowledge and experience with the beef industry; experience in beef cattle management knowledge of pasture management; knowledge and experience with budgeting and economic forecasting.

• Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements in accordance withSPPM 7.10and departmental driving standards.

• A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience and a minimum of 1 year teaching experience.

• Must have or obtain Herbicide Applicators license within 1 year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Animal Sciences or related field.

• Experience in teaching or outreach.

• Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IAUCUC) experience.

• Artificial Insemination experience.

THE DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL SCIENCES:

The Department of Animal Sciences at WSU offers the only four-year Animal Sciences degree in Washington state. Research in Animal Sciences is focused on mission-oriented and fundamental research in the areas of sustainable resources for society and sustaining and improving animal and human health. These research foci include animal behavior and well-being environmental sustainability genomics and genetics muscle biology nutrition reproductive biology and physiology.
