We are looking for a Data Integration Specialist (Azure) to join our delivery team working directly on-site and hybrid for one of our key customers in the energy sector. The role focuses on modernizing and operationalizing data integration processes across critical business systems ensuring secure automated and cloud-native data flows that enhance the customers operational efficiency and digital transformation journey.
What will you do:
- Design develop and maintain robust data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory Azure Databricks and related cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with architecture and application teams to define data ingestion transformation and orchestration workflows.
- Refactor legacy COBOL-based logic into Python for scalable and maintainable data processing.
- Implement data validation reconciliation and error-handling mechanisms to ensure data integrity across systems.
- Integrate observability and monitoring solutions (e.g. Azure Monitor Log Analytics) for proactive issue detection.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture data protection and audit standards.
- Prepare technical documentation runbooks and contribute to go-live readiness and post-deployment support.
Requirements- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in data integration or data engineering roles.
- Proven hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
- Strong Python programming skills for ETL/ELT development and automation.
- Sound knowledge of data quality lineage and reconciliation principles.
- Experience with Git CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud data ecosystem components.
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Greek is a plus.
Considered a plus:
- Experience with SAP IS-U or other utility-sector billing systems.
- Exposure to data governance and metadata management frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and performance tuning practices.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure Data Engineering or related fields.
Candidates should have:
- Eligibility to work within the EU.
