We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Accountant to join the team on a full time ongoing basis.
Position
The Accountant is responsible for providing high-level accounting support to the Director of Finance in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the School. This position delivers expert and professional accounting assistance to ensure excellence in financial management aligned with the Schools strategic and operational objectives.
Duties include but are not limited to preparing and analysing financial management reports; ensuring the integrity of the general ledger through robust internal controls and managing the fixed asset register. The Accountant assists with the preparation of budgets and forecasts provides financial analysis and benchmarking and supports effective budgetary control across departments to ensure alignment with the Schools financial objectives.
The role also contributes to the continual improvement of financial systems and processes the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures and compliance with relevant legislation and standards. The Accountant reviews creditor payment runs payroll uploads and other key transactions to ensure accuracy and addition the role liaises with internal and external stakeholders including auditors and government agencies and may provide backup support for Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable and Payroll functions as required.
