Position Summary

The People & Culture Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture (P&C) function across Canada. This role provides administrative and operational support in areas including onboarding and offboarding benefits administration payroll coordination employee data management and Vancouver office coordination. The P&C Coordinator will also support the Interim P&C Manager in the successful implementation of Workday and other key P&C initiatives.

This is a 14 month full-time fixed term contract role based in Vancouver reporting to the Interim P&C Manager. The successful candidate will be able to work from home full-time with the expectation to work in the Vancouver office at a minimum of once a month to support in-office events/co-working sessions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the P&C team ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Maintain employee records documentation and data accuracy across HRIS systems.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes including preparation of Employment Agreements conducting background checks coordination of technology benefits and system access.
  • Respond to general employee inquiries related to HR policies programs and benefits

Benefits & Payroll Administration

  • Coordinate benefits enrollment changes and terminations in the systems.
  • Support the Interim P&C Manager and Valeris Payroll Team on the administration of Canadian payroll ensuring accurate and timely submission of payroll data including new hires terminations leaves and compensation changes.

Workday Implementation Support

  • Assist the Interim P&C Manager with data preparation validation and testing activities related to the Workday implementation.
  • Support training communication and rollout initiatives to ensure a smooth transition for Policy Reporter employees

Office Coordination (Vancouver)

  • Oversee the basic administration of the Vancouver office including supplies equipment and facility coordination.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for office vendors and service providers.
  • Support local and virtual employee engagement initiatives and events.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachlelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a People & Culture or Human Resources role.
  • Experience supporting payroll or HR data processes is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • High degree of professionalism confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms (experience with Workday is an asset).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset.
