About the job
Advantra is partnering with a mid-stage cloud infrastructure startup in Phoenix to hire an Application Developer to migrate enterprise systems to Google Cloud and modernize workloads on GKE.
About the role
You will migrate existing applications to Google Cloud. The work includes containerizing services deploying workloads on GKE and automating infrastructure through Terraform and CI/CD tools. You will collaborate with cloud and platform teams to ensure performance security and reliability of services during and after migration.
Responsibilities

Migrate on-premise applications to Google Cloud environments.

Build and deploy containerized workloads using Google Kubernetes Engine.

Develop Terraform scripts for provisioning and automation.
-
Configure IAM roles service accounts and security policies.
-
Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins GitHub Actions or Cloud Build.
-
Monitor and optimize performance using Stackdriver and Prometheus.
-
Troubleshoot compute networking and storage issues in production.
-
Document deployment and rollback processes.
-
Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams on delivery and testing.
Core requirements
-
3 to 5 years of experience in application development or cloud migration.
-
2 years of hands-on experience with GCP and GKE.
-
1 year using Terraform or other IaC tools.
-
Experience containerizing applications with Docker.
-
At least one migration project completed to a cloud platform.
-
Proficiency in Python Java or Go.
-
Experience setting up CI/CD workflows with Jenkins or Cloud Build.
-
Knowledge of Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts.
-
Experience with IAM networking and security in GCP.
-
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Nice to have
-
Google Cloud Professional Developer or Architect certification.

Experience with hybrid cloud environments or Anthos.
-
Familiarity with cost optimization on GCP.
-
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

Familiarity with API Gateway or service mesh tools.
