The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Performance Coach. This is a contract full-time position with a targeted salary range of $60000 - $62000/year with full health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director Olympic Sports Athletic Performance the Assistant Athletic Performance Coach will support the development and management of athletic performance programs for assigned teams and student-athletes. The incumbent will focus on optimizing athletic performance through strength power speed agility conditioning and recovery. The position also requires close collaboration with sport coaches athletic trainers and other DIA staff to ensure comprehensive athlete training and well-being.
All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities and requirements:
Bachelors Degree in exercise science kinesiology or a related field required; Masters degree in exercise science sports science or a related field preferred; CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or CSCCA (Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association) certification (per NCAA legislation) required; Must possess and maintain current certifications in first aid CPR and AED use; Two years of collegiate coaching experience in athletic performance or a related field is preferred; Experience using Smartabase athlete management system or similar performance-tracking platforms is preferred; Excellent group presentation and communication skills to engage and instruct diverse groups of student-athletes; Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with coaches athletes administrators and colleagues; Ability to critically analyze performance data and adjust training programs accordingly; Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Outlook email calendaring and athlete management platforms such as Smartabase and Teamworks; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing shifting priorities and workload demands; Knowledge of NCAA conference and university rules and regulations as well as the ability to comply with all policies and procedures.
