ARSIEM is looking for a motivated and experienced Linux System Administrator for a small diverse team that provides end-to-end software systems and network engineering services to support Integrated Discovery Operations (IDO). You will lead evolve and maintain a dynamic modern DevOps architecture often based on open-source technology and not relying on corporate baselines to support software developers phased system upgrades compliance and improvements aimed at ensuring continued execution of the IDO mission. We aim to improve availability and reliability reduce latency and optimize performance while maintaining the security posture. This position will support one of our government clients in Annapolis Junction MD.
Responsibilities
- Design maintain and support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a large enclave comprised of various hardware software and network components to include server architecture virtual machines managed switches NAS VLANs and VPNs.
- Develop and carry out strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture and technology with minimal impact.
- Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions.
- Network administration including installing configuring and maintaining net devices; configuring various routing protocols troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity throughput and latency; setting up firewalls.
- Responsible for secure infrastructure and vulnerability corrections data security compliance and backups and recovery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Maintain SSPs STE/STN requirements via RMF Netseer SEAR logging patching IAVMs McAfee and UAM.
- Responsible for user-level support including interacting with system-savvy developers and analysts resolving network computer and virtual system issues & anomalies.
- Maintain enclave documentation (network diagram system names IP addresses barcodes etc.); provide monthly activity report to include system outages.
- Experience deploying and maintaining nginx; system monitoring platforms like OpenVAS Prometheus and Grafana; SELinux and FIPS.
- Knowledge of LatteArt/Biscotti Netseer SEAR logging.
- Bachelors degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Docker MongoDB and Elastic Search; Ansible and GitLab; RedHat Satellite.
- Working knowledge of software-defined networks.
$177000 - $198000 a year
The ARSIEM pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) job responsibilities education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other laws.
