Summary of Job Duties:
The Grants Specialist provides technical accounting and other administrative support under the direction of the Director of Grants and Cost Accounting. Responsibilities include post-award financial transactions for a wide variety of grant programs; account setups cash management subaward management closeouts and preparing required internal and external financial reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field or associate degree plus two (2) years of grants management or relevant experience OR High School diploma or equivalent PLUS four (4) years of grants management or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work on a computer for 8 hours in an office setting.
- Perform other office related tasks such as filing record storage etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years in post-award grants management accounting or financial analytics/auditing.
- Intermediate to advance skills in MS Office.
- Strong Excel skills preferred.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
- Set up grant accounts based on knowledge of the types of funding budget management Institutional base salaries Facilities and Administrative cost calculations award management allowable costs allocation of costs cost share program income project expenses and expanded authorities.
- Create invoices (deliverable-based billing scheduled payments cost reimbursable fixed price billing practices) letter of credit and drawdown of funds nonpayment resolution receipt of payments and distribution of drawdown.
- Prepare Federal Financial Reports (FFR) relinquishment statement interim reports and closeout.
- Provide post-award grant support using knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) cost transfers effort reporting equipment cost and fund accounting ethics accountability expense monitoring procurement subrecipient monitoring and audits.
- Provide responsive respectful and professional communication.
