POSITION OVERVIEW:

Primarily responsible for the day-to-day clinical care regarding pre-and post-procedure care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures such as X-rays MRIs CTs Nuclear Medicine stress testing and biopsies. Responsibilities include patient education administering contrast media researching medical implant devices monitoring vital signs managing sedation and collaborating with radiologists and technologists to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. Respond to emergencies handle administrative tasks and may help develop care policies for the department. With knowledge and adherence to regulatory and accrediting bodies federal and state regulations. Participates in direct procedural care as needed. Collaborate with MRI CT IR and NUC MED to support the Radiology Service Lines. Receives direction from: Radiology Director and Administration.

EDUCATION:

  • BSN from an accredited Nursing program OR AAS-CV from an accredited Cardiovascular program required.
  • Education and experience can be considered in lieu of a CV-specific program

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in all facets of the Radiology Department and background in sedation.
  • 1 year of recent Radiology experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Radiology and IR procedures
  • Minimum of 1-year continuous clinical experience.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current MT RN licensure
  • BLS ACLS PALS

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of acceptable Radiology standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the organization.
  • Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PCs.
  • Know how to open read and respond to email.
  • KNow how to manage electronic files.
  • Know how to print electronic documents and reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines be accurate and handle constantly changing situations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people deal with stressful situations and handle conflict.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manipulate various types of electronic and clinical equipment adjust and troubleshoot monitoring equipment IV infusions and computer equipment.
  • Ability to operate specialty equipment related to area of expertise and to perform computer tasks at a user level.
  • Work in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Potential for contact with chemicals blood borne pathogens and exposure to infectious disease.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift.
  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
