There is an exciting opportunity to join the Australian Volunteers Program as a Onboarding Coordinator!

AVI supports the implementation of the Australian Volunteers Program on behalf of the Australian Government. The Australian Volunteers Program enables skilled Australian volunteers to support partner organisations in 26 countries across the Pacific Asia and Africa to progress their development objectives.

Role overview

The Onboarding Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the successful deployment of volunteers across all countries of the Australian Volunteers Program. This role is primary responsible for monitoring guiding and supporting program participants through the various visa application processes and pre-assignment clearance requirements.

Position Requirements

This role will suit someone with:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in managing international deployments and the related planning organisation logistics and administrative processes.
  • Excellent collaboration communication and influencing skills and the ability to gain cooperation from external stakeholders
  • Strong customer service focus (experience in customer service-oriented roles preferred) with capacity to answer queries from a range of stakeholders
  • Strong cross-cultural awareness
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to achieve quality outcomes
  • Ability to navigate through and maintain databases up-to-date (knowledge of Salesforce preferred)
  • Proven administrative skills including attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritise tasks
  • Sound knowledge of and commitment to the underpinning values goals and objectives of the Australian Volunteers Program
  • Understanding of and commitment to EEO child protection and privacy principles
  • Relevant post-secondary or tertiary qualifications in travel services business administration project coordination and/or equivalent experience
