Job Summary
Title: Registered Nurse CVOR
Location: Akron OH (Multiple Locations throughout OH nearby Cleveland)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 410-hour (07:00 17:30)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to join a high-performing cardiovascular operating room team. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience in cardiac and vascular surgical procedures and be comfortable with both scrub and circulate responsibilities.
This role requires strong clinical judgment effective communication and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries.
- Assist with preoperative intraoperative and postoperative care.
- Scrub and circulate for open heart and vascular cases as needed.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to facility safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in on-site ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation.
- Work every other holiday as part of the team schedule.
Required Experience
- Minimum 18 months of recent CVOR experience (required).
- Open Heart and Vascular surgical experience preferred.
- Must have at least 18 months of permanent CVOR experience prior to travel nursing.
- Experience in both scrub and circulate roles preferred.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
Certifications & Licensure
- BLS American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse (preferred)
- CNOR Certified Nurse Operating Room (preferred)
Schedule
- Day shift: 07:00 17:30
- 410-hour shifts per week
- No guaranteed weekends off; must work every other holiday
