Job Summary

Automotive Collision Center Painter / Technician

Job Description

Body Shop Painter-refinishes damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with quality specifications and time standards.

Job Duties


* Removes grease and dirt from work surface
* Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated
* Fills pin holes and rock chips with putty to attain smooth surface
* Mixes paint according to specifications
* Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color
* Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate
* Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship noting and correcting any runs sags trash and unpainted areas
* Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment including respirator in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer
* Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint thinners and other hazardous
materials. Reports any deviations to management.
* Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles
* Understands keeps abreast of and complies with federal state and local regulations that affect body shop operations such as hazardous waste disposal OSHA Right-to-Know etc.



Education/Experience:

* Must have high school diploma or GED
* Two year degree with technical training preferred
* Four to five years related experience and/or training.
* Must own basic hand tools.

Certificates Licenses Registrations:

* Valid Drivers License required; must meet company insurability standards.
* Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check pre-employment drug screen and physical exam to meet the physical essentials of the position
* While performing the duties of this job the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
