Job Summary

The Wellness & HBC Manager is responsible for the ordering receiving stocking merchandising and management of the Wellness and HBC departments. As a manager the Wellness & HBC Manager is also responsible for the smooth operation of the department ensuring employee accountability and up/down communication with the Store Manager.

This position reports directly to the Store Manager with oversight from the Wellness Category Manager. This is a full-time position not to exceed 40 hours each week.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook
  • 1 years experience in retail management
  • 2 years experience in customer service
  • Reliable transportation and ability to drive to Louisville for monthly meetings

Responsibilities

  • Order and receive for the Wellness and HBC department.
  • Manage employees as they stock Wellness and HBC deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Drive sales through well-merchandised displays and increase the profitability of the Wellness and HBC departments.
  • Provide impactful training for store staff to aid in the sale of the Wellness department items.
  • Provide training to store staff in the use and application of structure function statements as a way to talk to customers about Wellness department items.
  • Ensure backstock is worked consistently and accurately.
  • Manage top and bottom sellers to ensure product sets stay profitable.
  • Ensure department stays profitable through the use of department ledgers as a means of maintaining costs.
  • Utilize feedback provided by Management and Category Manager to make changes to the sets to drive sales.
  • Manage a team of cashiers and stockers as they complete tasks for the Wellness and HBC departments and the store in general. Provide training on completing tasks to staff as well as following up to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the Wellness and HBC departments inventory is being managed and maintained through regular audits.
  • Regularly complete cleaning on the Wellness and HBC departments to ensure shelves and displays are clean and inviting at all times.
  • Ensure staff are working in a safe and productive manner at all times.
  • Ensure there is no expired product in the Wellness and HBC departments through regular audits of expiring items.
  • Attend monthly Wellness and HBC department meetings as well as monthly meetings with the Store Manager.
  • Complete audits on the Wellness and HBC departments to ensure operational compliance and efficiency.

This position will be required to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50 pounds rarely. This position will often be indoors in a climate-controlled environment with occasional outdoor exposure which could consist of hot and cold temperatures as well as potential exposure to wind and precipitation. This position will be expected to work occasionally in a cooler and freezer. This position will be expected to stand and walk often to sit and squat or kneel occasionally and to climb rarely.
