Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Cloud L1 Administrator to join our technology team. This role focuses primarily on the administration monitoring and maintenance of our large-scale virtualization infrastructure built on VMware. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing a complex VM environment and is eager to contribute to a critical part of our cloud ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily administration monitoring and maintenance tasks for the VMware vSphere environment.
- Provide L1 support for all virtualization infrastructure issues ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Manage and maintain core VMware components including vCenter Server ESXi hosts and ESX servers.
- Execute virtualization operations such as vMotion High Availability (HA) and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS).
- Handle routine tasks including creation deployment and management of Virtual Machine Templates and Snapshots.
- Assist in migration activities including Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) and Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V) conversions.
- Monitor system performance troubleshoot common issues and escalate complex problems to L2/L3 teams as necessary.
- Ensure all infrastructure changes and operations adhere to internal policies and change management procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of total IT experience with 3 years of direct experience as a VM Administrator or similar role.
- Core Technical Expertise:
- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with vSphere 5.X 6.0 and 6.5.
- Strong foundational understanding of all key VMware concepts including vCenter ESXi/ESX vMotion HA P2V and V2V.
- Familiarity with managing virtual machine lifecycle specifically using Templates and Snapshots.
- Certifications (Advantageous):
- A VMware Certified Professional (VCP6) certification is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage though not mandatory.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure 24x7 environment.
- Location: Candidates currently based in Mumbai or willing to relocate immediately will be preferred.
