What youll be doing

As a member of CIBCs team the Consultant Supplier Governance will join Third Party Governance Office (TPGO) department. TPGO oversees enterprise-wide supplier governance and relationship management processes to ensure that such activities are managed effectively and in compliance with CIBC policies and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with other third-party risk management life cycle functions and stakeholders (e.g. pre-contract due diligence control groups vendor relationship managers) the Consultant Supplier Governance will support the Third Party Ongoing Monitoring team to deliver capabilities to monitor the risk profile of CIBCs existing supplier relationships on an ongoing basis communicate and take action where required to ensure CIBCs supplier risk tolerance is managed.

How youll succeed

  • Subject Matter Expert - You will be viewed as a SME on supplier governance practices and will be leaned on to offer advice and assistance in this area. Often when issues are identified obtaining buy-in to close these issues is challenging and requires strong relationship management skills to be successful.
  • Risk Management - Support the execution of a risk-based ongoing supplier risk monitoring program for the enterprise (Canada US Europe and APAC regions) incorporating CIBC policy and regulatory requirements. Support activities relevant to ongoing supplier monitoring from risk stakeholders for the enterprise e.g. Information Security privacy Technology etc.
  • Relationship and Vendor Management - Co-ordinate with Relationship Managers on collection and analysis of supplier due diligence documentation (e.g. SOC reports exit strategies certificates of insurance financial reports SLA reports etc.). Work with vendor relationship managers to ensure suppliers are adhering to contract requirements.
  • Compliance - Identify processes policies tools and procedures at the bank that need to be created or refined to support effective management and governance of guidance and education to business units and other key stakeholders such that ongoing supplier risk monitoring requirements are clearly understood.

  • You can demonstrate Understanding of the internal and external business environment within which CIBC operates
  • Youre motivated by collective success. Experience working in a global multi supplier environment and managing suppliers
  • You act like an owner. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines around third party risk management. Familiarity with sourcing and/or supplier processes tools and templates. Experience with process modeling writing process documentation. Knowledge of banks process standards and guidelines would be an asset
