Job Summary

Position Title: Distribution Specialist

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Operations Supervisor Inventory & Distribution

Location: Grand Junction

Compensation: $20.60 Hourly

The Distribution Specialist is responsible for pulling and staging food products. This role handles the physical side of fulfilling orders and documenting and arranging them.

We provide food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming. Primary Responsibilities:

Store stage and pack food products
Responsible for keeping pick locations full including restacking and rearranging product
Ensure timely pulling of large delivery orders in order of importance
Check all orders to verify the accuracy
Restock product as needed following specific food storage guidelines
Verify pick bins and work with the Inventory team to ensure accuracy
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts; may research inventory to verify zeros
Assist in pulling product from the warehouse to pick slots
Load and unload trucks when assistance is needed
Assist with staging and loading partner orders actively assisting with the physical loading of products into vehicles as needed
Assist with partner shopping sorting stocking and arranging of the Fresh Food Center as needed.
Ensure maximum and accurate inventory is available
Maintain the warehouse in a neat clean and orderly manner according to Feeding America (FA) and the American Insitutue of Baking (AIB) standards
Meet with volunteers and train for distribution and pulling procedures; reinforce safe work behavior of volunteers
Secure distribution area at the end of each shift and the end of the work day
Follow all safety guidelines and regulations

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Able to interact with others in a diplomatic courteous and positive manner; maintaining a professional demeanor and responding with urgency when necessary
Must have strong problem-solving time management organizational multi-tasking and critical thinking skills
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and projects efficiently while meeting deadlines and objectives

Show strong teambuilding and interpersonal skills

Standing and walking throughout the shift; sitting intermittently
Use of heavy equipment on a daily basis including forklift stand up/sit down lift truck step up pallet jack and automatic pallet jack
Ability to push and pull up to 2000 lb. pallets with a manual pallet jack
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
Warehouse environment frequent refrigerated warehouse environment including a Freezer at -10 degrees and a Cooler at 32-39 degrees (up to 30%)

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment preferred
Forklift certification preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word Excel and Outlook and warehouse management systems a plus

Expected Hours of Work:

This role is considered full-time non-exempt working approximately 40 hours per week in person. Work schedule will be Monday Friday from 7:30 am 4:00 pm.

$20.60 Hourly
