ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Councils Assets Capital and Facilities unit sits within the City Services directorate and focuses on the beautification of the Cumberland LGA. Cumberland City Council owns and operates four (4) swim and leisure centre facilities across the LGA which provide recreational services to our community.

The role of the Venues Officer - Kitchen is to be the main support to the Chefs and Cooks at Councils Centres including the Holroyd or Granville Centre and to provide all day to day assistance in the kitchen including preparing and packaging food together with cleaning and ensuring adherence to the venues Food Safety Programme.

The successful applicant will require:

• Ability to work in team environment
• Follow basic food safety practices
• Basic computer literacy
• Experience of working in a commercial kitchen/food environment

About this role:

• Casual position
• Working various shifts between the hours of 5am to 11pm Monday to Sunday when required. Hours are generally rostered within business hours however will require occasional night shifts and weekend work.
• Located at Councils Holroyd and Granville Centre with occasional travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Councils work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

• Grade 2 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $29.42 to $36.04 per hour (including casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
• Weekend penalty ratesapply in accordance with the Local Government Award
• The commencing salary will be negotiated taking into consideration the successful applicants qualifications skills and experience related to the role

What youll need to have for this role:

• The right to live and work in Australia
• Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
• Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Councils Health Monitoring Procedure as required
• Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process in accordance with Councils COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
