Role Description:
We are seeking a sophisticated Engineering Manager to lead the evolution of our Traderproduct suite. You will be the anchor for our Belfast site inheriting a team of 9 and leadingrecruitment of engineers when will drive a high-stakes technical pivot: migrating our core systems from a legacyWindows/WPF foundation to a modern cloud-native architecture running on Ubuntu (Linux)with a Blazor frontend. This is a global leadership position requiring seamless collaborationacross our engineering hubs in Sweden France and New York.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Scaling & Leadership: Recruit onboard and mentor engineers in Belfast. You will define the local culture while ensuring it aligns with our global standards.
- Architectural Evolution: Oversee the transition on Windows on Ubuntu replacing WPF desktop interfaces with high-performance Blazor web components.
- AI-Augmented Development: Champion the use of AI (e.g. Copilot Cursor LLMs) for feature generation automated test systems and legacy refactoring. You will use AI to bypass the & onboarding tax" and accelerate the migration.
- Global Integration: Act as a key bridge between Belfast and our teams in Sweden France and New York ensuring consistent API contracts and architectural alignment across time zones.
- Real-Time Systems: Maintain and optimize mission-critical & Headless components ensuring robust data distribution via WebSockets and REST APIs for Tier-1 global Partners.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or engineering field
- Experience: 2 years as an Engineering Manager and 4 years as a Tech Lead.
- Stack: Expert-level C# (6/7/8). Must have experience deploying and managing workloads on Linux/Ubuntu.
- API & Real-Time Mastery: Strong proficiency in designing and scaling REST APIs and WebSockets for high-concurrency systems.
- UI Transition: Proven experience (or deep architectural oversight) in migrating from WPF to Blazor.
- AI Proficiency: Practical experience using AI tools to generate production-grade code unit tests and documentation.
- Distributed Leadership: Ability to thrive in a multi-site environment managing asynchronous workflows between Europe and the US
- Infrastructure: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for managing containerized Linux environments.
