As MISOs Facilities Manager I you will oversee daily operations and contractor performance across MISOs locations ensuring reliable and efficient facility management. This role manages both critical and non-critical environments while maintaining high standards of safety security and customer service. You will partner with outsourced providers to deliver services that meet contractual budgetary and performance collaboration with business partners this role supports MISOs real estate strategy and long-term facilities planning to enable 24/7 operations and align with the organizations evolving business needs.
Your responsibilities our Facilities Manager I include:
- Overseeing facility operations across assigned MISO sites and third-party providers to maintain reliable secure and efficient environments including critical infrastructure and data centers.
- Developing implementing and enhancing best practices systems and processes (Facility Management Systems FMS; Electrical Power Management Systems - EPMS SLAs) to minimize operational risk ensure compliance and support continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners - including emergency response contractors and municipal or utility representatives - to ensure business continuity and strong stakeholder relationships.
- Supporting long-term facilities and real estate strategies by contributing to planning budgeting project execution and cost-saving initiatives aligned with MISOs business goals.
- Monitoring and reporting performance metrics identify optimization opportunities and drive initiatives that enhance operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
To be successful Facilities Manager I were looking for the following skills/experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Facility Management Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in facility operations contractor management budgeting and forecasting; energy industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and ADA requirements with the ability to ensure compliance across facilities.
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) or equivalent IFMA certification preferred.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to develop long-term plans manage budgets and deliver operational excellence.
Additional experience in the following areas is highly preferred:
- Building systems (HVAC electrical plumbing mechanical and fire safety systems).
- Maintenance planning preventative and reactive.
- International Facility Management Association (IFMA) certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) or similar.
- Compliance familiarity with NERC CIP OSHA ADA and EPA.
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $125000 - $150000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors including but not limited to location of the role individual competencies education/professional certifications and qualifications/experience.
