Job Summary

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator oversees the daily operations of environmental compliance programs. This position includes performing site inspections completing necessary documentation to ensure adherence to regulations and offering management recommendations based on any identified issues.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operates independently with minimal direct supervision to manage the daily functions of EH&S programs.
  • Responsible for creating (either personally or through contractors) permit applications renewals standard exemptions and amendments for various changes related to air water or solid waste systems as needed.
  • Supports the development implementation and maintenance of policies programs processes systems training and tools associated with environmental compliance.
  • Stays updated on regulations and reporting requirements for both Texas and federal standards concerning air water and solid waste.
  • Travels to field locations as necessary to provide compliance assistance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strategic thinking negotiation presentation and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledgeable about EHS regulations permits and reporting obligations.
  • Committed to staying informed about changing EHS regulations and industry standards.
  • Skilled in identifying and addressing EHS compliance challenges.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once effectively.
  • Competent in identifying and evaluating environmental risks.
  • Familiar with occupational health and safety standards and practices.
  • Capable of leading and inspiring employees to focus on safety and environmental compliance.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • 3 years experience working within the environmental and compliance field preferably with an oil and gas company midstream refining/chemical plant or environmental consulting

Certifications:

  • None required

Physical Demands and Hazard for Field Employees:

This position may require occasional travel to remote sites potential exposure to flammable material adherence to safety protocols compliance with operating regulations and will require rigorous physical demands.
