REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree with a minimum of five years experience - Principal experience preferred
  • Knowledge and expertise in leadership and management role of the principal preferred

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of the Leadership Consultant - Student & School Support is to assist Region 18 local education agencies (LEAs) administrators teachers and other stakeholders in the effective management implementation and delivery of effective practices that will impact successful campus operations to improve student learning. The Leadership Consultant - Student & School Support shall be directly responsible to the Chief Student and School Support Officer.

  • Plan develop conduct and/or facilitate staff development designed to raise the level of student achievement in Region 18 LEAs.
  • Collaboratively plan develop and/or facilitate long-range instructional staff development programs for ESC (Education Service Center) and LEAs (Local Education Agencies).
  • Actively participate as a member of the ESC/LEA team and within the appropriate Professional Learning Community (PLC).
  • Assist with compiling analyzing and/or interpreting data such as student performance in relation to state standards and program evaluation to attain program excellence.
  • Secure the aid of resource persons and consultants to supplement and enrich programs of local schools.
  • Assist with the development of procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of service center programs and recommend modifications as needed to attain ESC goals.
  • Keep abreast of current leadership and instructional practices and techniques; professional literature; and state and federal regulations related to job responsibilities.
  • Acquire develop and demonstrate new skills by participating in professional growth activities.
  • Maintain open communication and confidentiality in accordance with the Texas Professional Standards of Ethics.
  • Assist LEAs with enriching and improving student performance effectively using elements of the planning process which include assessment goal setting objective development resources identification timeline establishment and evaluation design.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor when communicating with clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Student and School Support Officer and/or other ESC administrators.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide expertise and technical assistance for LEA principals in addressing issues that specifically impact curriculum instruction assessment/data instructional leadership issues and campus operations.
  • Assist LEA principals with the implementation and effective use of a quality district curriculum process at the campus level.
  • Provide LEA principals with information professional development and/or technical support for implementing quality instruction and differentiation practices with campus staff.
  • Provide LEA principals with information and professional development for implementing quality assessment and data analysis practices and quality leadership practices with campus staff and/or teams.
  • Coach and support district/campus leadership in TIL (Texas Instructional Leadership).
  • Provide LEA principals/DCSIs with information and professional development to support School Improvement efforts.
  • Utilize technology within the ESC and with our clients to enhance communication as well as job efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Incorporate the use of technology into staff development as applicable and as new technology becomes available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Student and School Support Officer and/or other ESC administration.
