Job Description:

The Senior Manager Strategic Engagements will be a core member of the Office of the CEO responsible for planning coordinating and executing high-profile external engagements with clients policymakers and other influential stakeholders. The Senior Manager will ensure every CEO interaction is strategically positioned flawlessly executed and followed through with precision. This role requires careful attention to detail troubleshooting and on-the-ground problem solving as well as close collaboration with partners in Corporate & Public Affairs (CAPA) Government Relations Marketing and Executive Experiences. Most importantly the Senior Manager will work closely with the CEO and report to his Chief of Staff to deliver on long-term goals and day-to-day opportunities. They will regularly travel with the CEO across TDs Maine-Florida footprint for meetings events and conferences.

Depth & Scope:

  • Serves as the central point of contact for preparing the CEO and senior leadership for critical external meetings and conferences
  • Coordinates across CAPA Government Relations Business Units and other stakeholders to align objectives and talking points
  • Manages logistics preparation and event flow for meetings visits and offsites with clients political leaders and other external stakeholders as well as post-meeting follow-up activities and communications
  • Leads development of executive briefing books pre-read materials and stakeholder profiles
  • Works with business partners to ensure messaging is consistent compliant and tailored to the stakeholder
  • Anticipates potential issues or opportunities and prepare the CEO with responsive strategies
  • Oversees day-of execution of meetings and events ensuring smooth logistics positive stakeholder experience and CEO readiness
  • Acts as the behind-the-scenes orchestrator to make the CEOs engagement seamless and impactful
  • Captures commitments action items and outcomes from each engagement
  • Coordinates with businesses and functions to ensure timely follow-up and accountability
  • Cultivates relationships and keep the CEO informed of progress
  • Works with Government Relations and Business Units to prioritize and sequence key interactions
  • Provides insights and recommendations to strengthen long-term partnerships

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 8 years of experience in strategy government affairs political campaigns events management executive communications client management or a related field
  • Proven track record of coordinating complex high-stakes meetings or events with senior executives and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Strong communication and writing skills; adept at synthesizing complex issues into clear actionable briefings
  • High political and cultural awareness; ability to exercise discretion and judgment in sensitive contexts
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to influence across functions and seniority levels
  • Comfortable with regular travel that could range from 25% to 50% of a typical month
