We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Business Development Manager who is curious community-minded creative collaborative resilient and humbledriven to understand clients solve problems work across teams overcome challenges and value both people and nature.

The Role

Reporting to the Business Development Director you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the growth agenda leading the team to deliver against annual sales targets and cultivate strong senior-level client and stakeholder relationships whilst coaching and developing a team.

This role will suit a strategic people-focused sales leader who thrives in a values-driven environment and can balance long-term strategic growth with immediate commercial outcomes.

  • Lead and coach a high-performing team aligned with GBN values.
  • Achieve annual revenue targets and drive growth through strategic opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of major client opportunities (>$500k 35 years).
  • Cultivate strong senior-level client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Develop and implement the BU Business Development Strategic Plan.
  • Strengthen sales capability processes and materials ensuring high-quality proposals and tenders.
  • Monitor performance via HubSpot CRM to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support GBNs ESG strategy and promote community engagement initiatives.

About You

Youre a proven business development leader who combines commercial drive with strategic insight and people leadership. Youre curious about clients skilled at identifying opportunities. You understand the value of collaboration integrity and community impact and can inspire your team while delivering major contracts.

Youll bring:

  • 10 years experience in B2B services business development (preferably contract-based industries).
  • Experience selling into professional sport industry would be highly regarded
  • Proven success building and leading high-performing sales teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Sales Marketing or related fields.
  • Strong negotiation strategic planning and sales execution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High-level proficiency in CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) and MS 365 suite.
  • A values-driven approach aligned with GBN culture and sustainability commitments.
