Temporary employee for Quantitative Wood Anatomy lab work 80-100% (f/m/d)

You will be responsible for the preparation of micro-sections of wood cores (embedding cutting staining) and the subsequent measurement of various wood anatomical traits with the dedicated image-analysis software ROXAS. The work is part of the project SAD-TREE ( which aims to empirically disentangle atmospheric vs. soil drought impacts on intra- and inter-annual tree growth and mechanistically model drought constraints on intra- and inter-annual growth dynamics You will be part of a very enthusiastic and ambitious international project team that includes leading experts in the field. The position is for 12 months and is aimed at recent graduates.
You possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in forest ecology environmental sciences or an equivalent field. Knowledge in tree-ring width measurements cross-dating and other tree-ring related approaches is an asset. You like routine work in the laboratory as well as at the computer. You work carefully and independently and have a high level of diligence and team spirit.
