DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced truck driver to provide service to Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be assisting to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Transport bins to customer locations and transport loads from customers to assigned landfill.
- Complete pre-trip inspection on vehicles for mechanical/safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size weight route designations parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects accidents or violations.
Requirements- Proven experience as a truck driver.
- Ability to drive continually during a working day and travel locally.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Must have aminimum of 5 yearsexperience and valid DZ driving license.
- High level of accountability and time management.
- Willingness to get in and roll up your sleeves to do whatever it takes to get the tasks done safely and effectively.
- Clean driving abstract/CVOR.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers colleagues and dispatch.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic weather conditions etc).
