About the Internship

The ABCs in-house legal team is once again offering its highly popular work experience placements in 2026. These are unpaid placements for 6 weeks based at the ABC Legal offices in Ultimo NSW. You will join one of the teams in either

  • Content
  • Disputes & Litigation
  • Prepublication & Training
  • Technology & Privacy
  • Regulatory Commercial & Property
  • Legal Operations & Innovation

As a work experience student in ABC Legal you will have a friendly and supportive environment to learn in with a vibrant dynamic and cohesive team and mentors who will help you with any questions and give you the opportunity to experience what a career in media law might look like for you.

Am I eligible to Apply

To be eligible for the placement you must:

  1. Be in your final year of your law degree at an Australian university; and be required to complete a supervised practical legal placement as part of your university degree or as part of your practical legal training to qualify for legal admission.
  2. Have a demonstrated interest in media law technology privacy and/or legal innovation/operations.

Candidates who do not meet these minimum requirements will not be considered for a placement.

Application Process

The precise dates of the placement terms are yet to be finalised however placements run throughout the year from March until early December 2026.

As part of the application process you will be directed to an online form to complete and will be asked to attach;

  • Your resumé
  • A certified copy of your most recent academic record
  • A cover letter stating:
      • Confirmation you meet the above minimum requirements.
      • Your three choices for preferred dates for placement
      • Area of law that is of particular interest to you.
      • What the ABC means to you.
