Psychiatric Technician
Schedule:
Day/Evening/Night Rotating Shift Schedule
Holidays Weekends On-Call and Callback per unit needs
36 hours per week (may consider 48)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate team-oriented Psychiatric Technician to provide direct care and clinical support to inpatient psychiatric patients. The Psych Tech plays an essential role in promoting emotional stability safety and well-being while assisting with daily living activities and psychiatric rehabilitation under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care and participate in the delivery of psychiatric and rehabilitative services
Support patients with daily living and therapeutic activities in accordance with treatment plans
Communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary team members
Observe report and document patient behaviors and condition changes to the RN
Participate in patient rounds group therapy and team meetings as assigned
Ensure a safe supportive and therapeutic environment for patients

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Psychiatric Technician
Education: Associates Degree in Psychology or Sociology (required)
Certification: BLS (American Heart Association only required)
Behavioral Characteristics:
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Dependable adaptable and committed to patient well-being
