- Shift: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides care and support to elderly residents. The GNA helps with daily activities monitors residents well-being and ensures they are safe and comfortable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to residents including bathing grooming dressing toileting and feeding.
- Assist residents with mobility transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Monitor and report changes in residents physical emotional or mental conditions to the nursing staff.
- Measure and record vital signs intake and output as directed.
- Maintain residents rooms in a clean orderly and safe condition.
- Support residents independence and well-being by encouraging participation in daily activities.
- Adhere to infection control and safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with residents families and the healthcare team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing supervisor or charge nurse.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
