Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care to patients in the SICU managing a variety of critical conditions such as sepsis ARDS and multi-organ failure. This role involves administering medications monitoring patient status and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient care.
Location:Rochester New York United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to SICU patients with conditions such as sepsis ARDS renal failure and heart failure.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Assist with procedures such as CRRT EKOS IABP ECMO and Impella.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York (MUST HAVE IN HAND).
- Clinical Assessment Medication Administration and Treatment Planning skills
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital home health or hospice care experience
- Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field
- Drivers license car insurance and automobile for field work
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with CRRT EKOS IABP ECMO and Impella devices.
Special Considerations:
- Must be available for some holidays.
- Must reside over 75 miles from the facility.
- Floating to other units may be required.
- Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 hour night shifts (1900-0730).
- Every other weekend is required.
- Contract length is 8 weeks starting 11/18/2025.
