Job Description – Lead Piping & Pipeline Engineer
Position Overview
The Lead Piping & Pipeline Engineer will manage and deliver all engineering activities related to
piping and pipelines for large-scale EPC projects in the oil gas and petrochemical sectors. The
role combines expertise in plant piping cross-country pipelines and tie-ins ensuring technical
integrity constructability and compliance with international standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead engineering and design for process piping and cross-country pipelines from
concept through commissioning.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables such as P&IDs Line Lists Isometrics 3D
models stress analysis and material requisitions.
• Develop strategies for tie-ins shutdown works and SIMOPS in live operating
environments.
• Ensure compliance with ASME API and project specifications as well as relevant client
and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise construction methodologies for pipeline installation piping erection
hydrotesting and commissioning.
• Review and approve vendor documents for piping materials valves fittings and
supports.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (process civil structural electrical
instrumentation) and with vendors/OEMs.
• Support construction and commissioning teams by resolving technical queries and
ensuring quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure consistency in technical deliverables.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12 years’ experience in piping and pipeline engineering with 5 years in a lead role on
EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 B31.4 B31.8 and API pipeline standards.
• Hands-on experience with piping layout stress analysis 3D models reviews and material
selection.
• Experience in shutdown tie-ins hydrotesting and pre-commissioning.
• Strong leadership coordination and communication skills
