Job Title:Senior Paralegal
Pay:$32-$42/hr
Reports to: Founder
Job Overview:
This role plays a crucial role in supporting attorneys by handling various administrative and substantive legal tasks. Their responsibilities encompass a range of duties aimed at ensuring the efficient operation of a law firm or legal department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data entry into firms data base(s) for conflict checks and customer relationship management software.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Assist in deposition preparation.
- Complete discovery (propounding and responding).
- Assist with calendar including deadlines hearings and appointments etc.
- Organize redact bates stamp and combine voluminous digital files.
- File preparation/organization and assist with document management and e-filing of documents and media.
- Assist with the processing of daily incoming and outgoing mail documents voicemails and share files.
- Prepare documents including correspondence emails pleadings disclosures and judicial council forms..
- Processing of records/documents. Specifically e- filing and service and preparation of proofs of service; bate-stamping and redacting of documents; Inventorying documents.
- Assist with trial preparation (creating trial binders making copies etc.)
- Manage and maintain attorney calendars including setting appointments assisting in preparing for appointments/appearances and confirming appointments.
- Maintain minimum billing requirement.
- Scanning copying organizing/titling and saving of documents.
- Assist with document retrieval and drop off for attorneys and staff as needed.
- Support attorneys as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proficient in MS Office 365 (specifically MS Word MS Excel & Outlook).
- Paralegal Certificate or ability to qualify as a legal assistant per Cal. Business & Professions Code.
- Minimum of 5 years family law firm experience.
- Smokeball Adobe Pro ShareFile and Ring Central experience a plus.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer photocopier postage machine and scanner.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be a self-starter who is well organized and can handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize work.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Must be reliable responsible and detail-oriented.
- Must be flexible and open-minded.
