Job Summary

The Appian Developer at Northern Trust is responsible for designing developing and implementing business process management (BPM) applications using the Appian low-code platform. This role involves collaborating with business analysts stakeholders and other developers to create robust scalable and user-friendly applications that automate workflows and enhance operational efficiency. A developer in this role will contribute to Northern Trusts digital transformation initiatives under strategies like the Northern Trust Whole Office.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development:Design develop and deploy process automation and workflow applications using theAppian platform. This includes building user interfaces (using SAIL) process models records and business rules.
System Integration:Integrate Appian applications with external systems databases and APIs to create seamless end-to-end business solutions.
Requirements Analysis:Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs.
Code Quality & Best Practices:Ensure adherence to Appian development best practices Northern Trusts architecture frameworks and coding standards. Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables.
Testing and Optimization:Participate in application testing (unit integration and user acceptance) and debugging to ensure functionality and optimal performance. Conduct system performance tuning as needed.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:Provide support and maintenance for existing Appian applications troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Technical Documentation:Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams test plans and release notes.
