We are excited to be able to offer opportunity working in a newly created post supporting the delivery a customer focused service for the Gypsy Roma Traveller community (GRT).
Duties will include supporting the day-to-day management of the Gypsy and Traveller sites. Developing professional working relationships with the communities and stakeholders. You will work agilely between sites and council offices and be the first point of call for the when the Traveller site is in use. You must have excellent communication skills and experience in dealing with difficult conversations.
You will support with the continuous improvement of the GRT provision within the City keeping up to date with legislation with regards to GRT and adapting policy and procedures to meet the requirements.
You will be engaging with the Gypsy and Traveller community and stakeholders to inform policy legislation and strategy formation as appropriate. Working closely with the residents of the Gypsy and Traveller site through the preparation and implementation of any site development expansion and refurbishment plans.
Contributing to the service improvement initiatives and projects producing action plans to respond to specific issues and/or demands. The role requires flexible working.
Previous knowledge or experience of working with GRT would be advantageous but not essential.
