This is an exciting career opportunity within the Biochemistry and Biophysics Group in the Department of Quantitative Biosciences at our Research Laboratories in Boston. Quantitative Biosciences is a global multidisciplinary organization with a broad drug discovery portfolio. Our group supports multi-modal (e.g. small molecules targeted protein degradation peptides) discovery programs in Immunology Oncology Neuroscience and CMDfrom chemical matter identification to clinical candidate selectioncombined with deep expertise in in vitro pharmacological characterization of drug candidates.
This co-op offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of bioanalytical science and supported by highly knowledgeable scientists to develop mass spectrometrybased methods to determine protein turnover (half-life) in cells under basal and disease conditions.
A successful candidate is expected to:
Perform SILAC metabolic labeling studies on various cell lines.
Conduct LC-MS studies including operation of Vanguish-neo and Excedion instruments.
Develop quantitative methods for proteins/peptides using tandem mass tag (TMT) methodology on various biological samples.
Analyze MS spectra using Proteome Discoverer and BiopharmaFinder.
Demonstrate excellent analytical organizational and communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to work collaboratively.
Collaborate within the Quantitative Biosciences Department and across functional areas to discuss data drive scientific innovation and implement emerging technology platforms.
Education:
Candidates must have completed a BS/BA degree in Biochemistry or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience.
Candidates should be be currently enrolled in a PhD program in Biochemistry or a related field.
Required Experience and Skills:
Candidates must have basic knowledge of cell biology and biochemistry principles with familiarity in common laboratory techniques.
Candidates must have familiarity with LC-MS principles operation and applications.
Candidates must be highly motivated driven and willing to learn new scientific methodologies.
Candidates must have proficiency with Windows-based operating systems and basic applications such as spreadsheets and databases.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Candidates should have experience in mammalian cell culture techniques including transfection immunoprecipitation and proteomic analysis.
Candidates should have experience with TMT quantification methods.
Candidates should have experience in proteinase digestion for cell lysate or animal tissue samples.
Candidates should have experience using Proteome Discoverer.
Candidates should have experience with CESTA MS.
Candidates should have experience with automated liquid handlers (e.g. Echo) and data analysis/presentation software such as PRISM and TIBCO Spotfire.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
