- Provide real-time geosteering support and wellbore placement recommendations during drilling operations.
- Integrate geological petrophysical and engineering data to guide horizontal drilling and optimize wellbore trajectories.
- Collaborate with drilling reservoir and geology teams to design and execute well plans that meet both operational and reservoir targets.
- Analyze offset well data and create pre-drill geosteering models and structure maps.
- Communicate effectively with the drilling rig team and operations geologists to ensure well path accuracy and adherence to drilling objectives.
- Review mud logging LWD/MWD and gamma ray data for formation evaluation and decision-making.
- Provide post-well analysis and technical reports to support project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of best practices for geosteering and well planning operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Geology or Geophysics (required).
- 35 years of relevant experience in an oilfield-related position (preferred).
- Knowledge or experience in:
- Well planning and directional drilling operations.
- Geo-steering methods and interpretation of LWD/MWD data.
- Mud logging and formation evaluation.
- Reservoir characterization and completion planning.
