**This role is local remote to Atlanta Metro area.
Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Scientist:
- Serve as field lead for characterization remediation groundwater exploration and aquifer studies
- Oversee drilling subcontractors and well construction
- Collect soil water air and other environmental samples following established protocols
- Maintain and calibrate sampling and monitoring equipment
- Record and manage field data notes and photo logs
- Assist with environmental report preparation and remedial alternative evaluations
- Perform property due diligence including environmental and property condition assessments and associated reporting
- Participate in occasional emergency response efforts related to petroleum or other releases
- Evaluate chemical and stratigraphic data; prepare tables figures and time-series graphs
Safety Culture
- Learn and contribute to Apexs safety culture
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines
- Report safety concerns promptly
What were looking for:
- Experience: 3 years in due diligence and site assessments including drilling oversight well installation environmental sampling subsurface investigations and GIS mapping
- Education: BS in Geology Environmental Science Environmental Engineering or related field
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and 8-hour refreshers
- GA regulatory experience desired
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn technical software
- Field Expertise: Groundwater sampling (including low-flow methods) stratigraphic logging using various drilling techniques
- Other Requirements: Valid drivers license with clean driving record strong safety record ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive and proactive attitude with willingness to learn and support variety of projects
- Physical & Travel: Ability to work outdoors in varied conditions lift and transport equipment with 50-75% fieldwork
- Flexibility to work remote as long as candidate resides in Atlanta Metro area with occasional office visits
