Were looking for a detail-oriented and trustworthy Payroll Specialist to join our team! In this role youll be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies. Youll work closely with People Operations Finance and external providers to support a smooth and efficient payroll process. You will also collaborate in other People Operations processes.

This is a 6 months to 1year fixed-term contract to cover a parental leave.

What youll do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees in Spain and Italy
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws tax regulations and internal policies
  • Maintain and update payroll records and employee data (e.g. salaries bonuses deductions)
  • Collaborate with new hires terminations and changes in compensation
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies or errors
  • Coordinate with Finance for payroll-related journal entries and reporting
  • Manage relationships with external payroll vendors or platforms
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll taxes and payslips
  • Support audits and reporting requirements as needed
  • What youll have (Requirements)

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist Payroll Administrator or similar role in Spain (2 or 3 years experience)
  • Solid understanding of payroll principles labor legislation and tax regulations
  • Experience working with payroll software (e.g. ADP SAP Workday Deel etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of confidentiality
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and payroll reports
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a multinational or remote-first company
  • Familiarity with payroll processes in Italy
  • Knowledge of benefits administration and HRIS tools
