This position plays a key role in supporting the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlifes mission within the Habitat Programs Administrative Operations Division. Reporting to the Strategic Operations Section Manager youll help balance priorities and coordinate vital technical projects for the Energy Water and Major Projects (EWMP) Division.


As a core member of the Chehalis Section youll provide essential operational and analytical support managing contracts organizing data and streamlining project coordination. Your work will help ensure smooth operations for some of the Departments most impactful habitat and infrastructure projects.


What to Expect-

Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role the Habitat Chehalis Section Support Analyst Chehalis Habitat Section Support Analyst will


Provide Operational Support for the Chehalis Section

  • Acts as an effective communications link and reliable source of information for others to create cohesiveness collaboration and clear communications.
  • Develops and maintains the Sections project schedule by collecting project information developing and managing the scheduling database and reporting to the Division and Chehalis Section Manager for direction on any adjustments or corrections.
  • Collects compiles and analyzes information and data for internal and external reporting.
  • Assists with budget development and updates.
  • Tracks contract spending and communicates changes in work schedule that impact contract spending to Division leadership Habitat Budget Staff and Administrative Operations Manager.

Contract Support

  • Serves as a point of contact for contract coordination within Habitat Program for EWMP Chehalis Section.
  • Coordinates with relevant agency staff on Chehalis and ASRP contracts.
  • Assists in the development and preparation of monthly and/or quarterly reports for activities associated with contracts through the collection and analysis of project information.

Information and Database Management

  • Research platform options and makes recommendations to Habitat EWMP Division Leadership Supervisor and Administrative Operations Manager.
    • Oversees development and implementation of the database.
    • Creates training materials and provides training to staff.
    • Manages and updates the database as needed.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of a database for training materials and a library of resources. Coordinates with other Habitat Program Divisions on material delivery.


Working Conditions:

Schedule: This position is full-time working 40 hours per week. The standard work schedule includes the potential for occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Alternative schedules may be considered based on business needs.

Travel: Limited

Customer Interaction:Frequent interactions with Habitat Program staff cross-program coordination and coordination with external partners for technical support and contract management.


Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:

A bachelors degree andthree (3) years of experience conducting research and analyzing policies laws rules or regulations or equivalent experience performing activities closely comparable to the key responsibilities of this position.


Note: Closely related qualifying experience may substitute year-for-year for the required education.


Special Requirement/Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of agency training and/or certification dependent on supervisory direction position need andtraining availability


Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the required qualifications our ideal applicant will possess one or more of the following:

  • Two (2) years experience in strategic planning process improvement project management principles and techniques and LEAN principles and techniques.
  • One (1) year of experience communicating complex issues to top-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Access SharePoint and Adobe software.
