Description

The Manager of Infrastructure Systems on our Server Build Team is responsible for leading a team of infrastructure engineers in supporting a hybrid enterprise environment. This role involves developing and implementing short- and long-term goals to meet organizational objectives recruiting and retaining staff establishing and enforcing policies and procedures resource management to complete key organizational projects and continuously improving the capability of Emorys compute platforms. The Manager collaborates with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to drive infrastructure initiatives that support business growth and operational efficiency. The server build team is responsible for project-based work automation Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and continuous improvement. The Manager of this team will lead the teams continuous infrastructure modernization shift to cloud operating models and SRE. This position will primarily be remote but requires a local candidate for as needed in person leadership meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and mentor a team of technical engineers fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth
  • Recruit retain and develop staff to maintain a high-performing infrastructure team
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations to ensure continuous improvement

Infrastructure Planning & Implementation:

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term infrastructure goals aligned with organizational objectives
  • Lead infrastructure projects and initiatives to enhance system capabilities and operational efficiency
  • Ensure high availability security and scalability of enterprise infrastructure systems
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time and in-budget

Policies Procedures & Performance Monitoring:

  • Establish and enforce policies procedures and key performance indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure operations
  • Monitor the operations and performance of server systems (both cloud and on-premise) to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Implement best practices to maintain a highly reliable mission-critical geographically dispersed production environment

Technical Issue Resolution & Support:

  • Coordinate and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and service disruptions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and implement solutions effectively
  • Provide strategic input on technology investments and enhancements

Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives:

  • Work closely with IT leadership to align infrastructure strategies with business needs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance infrastructure reliability and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. Relevant experience in lieu of degree can be accepted.
  • Experience: Seven years of experience including designing and implementing highly complex systems on multiple platforms
  • Technical Expertise: Experience managing a highly reliable mission-critical geographically dispersed production environment. Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure networking and security best practices. Knowledge of cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure solutions. Experience with automation configuration management and system monitoring tools
  • Skills: -Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical and decision-making skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and service management best practices
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP VCA AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile practices
  • Previous experience managing enterprise infrastructure teams
