Job Summary

The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program you will actively contribute to your teams success learn about JM Familys companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities networking events and much more.

The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program (May 26th 2026 - July 31st 2026).

Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks providing hands-on experience and contributing to various department initiatives. They will learn about JM Familys culture including our core values: Consideration Cooperation Communication Innovation and Accountability. These core values are part of our keys to success and the skills that embody these values are what drive our success as an organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate and contribute as an active member of the JM Familys Internship Program.
  • Liquidity & Cash Management
    • Assist in forecasting daily and monthly cash flows across multiple statutory and non-statutory entities
    • Analyze timing of cash inflows and outflows to optimize liquidity positions
    • Help ensure sufficient funding is available for operational and investment needs
  • Investment & Capital Markets Support
    • Conduct research on fixed income equity and alternative asset investment opportunities
    • Prepare analyses and summaries for potential investment decisions
    • Monitor portfolio performance risk metrics and compliance with regulatory limits (e.g. NAIC designations RBC charges statutory guidelines)
  • Balance Sheet & Strategic Finance Projects
    • Support balance sheet optimization initiatives and strategic finance projects
    • Develop dashboards and perform sensitivity analyses to support decision-making
    • Prepare materials and presentations for ratings agency senior leadership and the Investment Committee

Qualifications:

  • Our ideal candidate will be available to work on-site at our Deerfield Beach FL offices for the duration of our 10-week summer program.
  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelors or Graduate degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in finance accounting business engineering actuarial sciences or related fields.
  • Strong academic standing (GPA 3.0 or above preferred)
  • Minimum completion of at least one semester of classes; relevant and completed coursework in finance accounting and/or mathematics.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Self-motivated and curious with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Interest in insurance-related careers corporate finance treasury or investment management as a career path
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to support cross-functional communications with a wide variety of individuals including external/internal partners and candidates; and ability to conduct presentations.
