The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program you will actively contribute to your teams success learn about JM Familys companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program (May 26th 2026 - July 31st 2026).
Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks providing hands-on experience and contributing to various department initiatives. They will learn about JM Familys culture including our core values: Consideration Cooperation Communication Innovation and Accountability. These core values are part of our keys to success and the skills that embody these values are what drive our success as an organization.
The Marketing Communications Intern at Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) will be responsible for working with internal associates and ad agency teams to plan develop and execute the marketing communications strategy across all marketing channels for the purpose of acquiring new vehicle sales.
This internship will include projects and tasks that relate to regional advertising of vehicle campaigns through media development and placement across digital social and broadcast channels.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review and approval of editing of vehicle/incentive messaging and the trafficking process of monthly online and broadcast creative.
- Assist in the review and approval of digital and audio advertising campaigns (programmatic endemic social influencer and paid-search channels).
- Assist the team in the creative production process for commercial spots.
- Work requires close collaboration with team members in Marketing and other departments and outside ad agencies as well as interaction with senior organizational leadership to have messages proofread approved and appropriately distributed.
Qualifications:
- This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements depending on the business need.
- Ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a Marketing Advertising Communications or Public Relations degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in a relevant field. Candidates in related fields will also be considered. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.
- Prior work or internship experience in advertising and marketing preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook. Power BI proficiency preferred.
- Must possess strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills with adeptness in dealing with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Must be able to act as liaison between agencies/vendors to accomplish objectives.
- Must be self-motivated and possess strong problem-solving ability.
- Must possess strong organization time management communication presentation and follow-up skills.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment multitasking and managing often changing priorities.
