Job Summary and Responsibilities
Mercy Folsoms Family Birth Center has a current delivery volume of 50-65 a month. The unit consists of 8 LDRPs with overflow rooms for Postpartum if necessary on another floor.
We offer aromatherapy and free volunteer doula services. Staff are trained to support women and help them achieve their desired birth experience with safety of mom and baby at the forefront of all we do. The staff is highly diversified with both L&D Postpartum Care and NRP competencies and should transport be required for an infant to a NICU/Intermediate Nursery the staff is knowledgeable in stabilizing and transferring protocols.
Position Summary
Plans the overall nursing care and functions in the nursing unit during an assigned shift.
- Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff taking into consideration the patients condition and the employees skill level.
- Assesses monitors and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
- Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
- Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in Nursing. Bachelors Degree in Nursing or other related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experiencein Labor and delivery as a registered nurse.
Licensure
- Current CA RN License
- Current AHA BLS ACLS and NRP
