ROLE PURPOSE:
The Monitoring and Accountability Officer will play a key role in implementing and strengthening the existing PALAM/A project accountability system with a strong focus on ensuring that Feedback and Reporting Mechanisms are effectively utilized responded to and documented. The role will also support systematic information sharing and promote active participation of children and communities ensuring that accountability practices are fully embedded in project delivery to enhance quality impact and addition the post holder will provide technical support to the project MEAL team to ensure the smooth implementation of MEAL activities as well.
In the event of a humanitarian emergency the role holder will be required to work outside the normal role profile and adapt working hours as necessary.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Oversee the systematic collection documentation and timely response to feedback from beneficiaries ensuring confidentiality and a child-safe approach.
Any allegation or concern about a violation of Safeguarding Policies (Child Safeguarding or PSEA) is raised against staff partners consultants volunteers service providers or other stakeholders or if any harm/unsafe programming is reported (including through the Accountability mechanism) it must be reported immediately through the internal reporting procedures and registered in DATIX.
Collaborate with project MEAL team and the Senior Management to implement and enhance accountability mechanisms that are inclusive accessible and responsive to the needs of all beneficiaries particularly children and vulnerable groups.
Analyse feedback tracker data/information on monthly and produce reports to support for project decision-making process
Provide technical support to prepare and submit accountability related KPI reports to SCI regional/Global
Support the project team to strengthen the implementation of the holistic accountability mechanisms particularly ensuring quality feedback and response mechanism that is inclusive to all
Work with district MEAL Coordinators to strengthen the child-friendly consultations to improve the feedback mechanisms ensuring that childrens voices are actively sought and considered
Ensure that Save the Childrens minimum standards of Child Safeguarding and Safeguarding procedures and country policies are implemented and adhered to in the area of responsibility supporting relevant staff as required
Lead quality accountability mechanisms processes and practices in line with USDA and SCI standards.
Take lead role in responding to the hotline calls and maintain accountability tracker regularly
Provide technical support to monitor and track the Quality Benchmark practices align with project activities
Support monitoring activities by collecting verifying and validating data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Programme Implementation
Ensure that accountability feedback and feedback from children is made available to project teams and others to inform programming
Work closely with the Deputy ManagerMEAL to collect and verify monitoring and accountability data ensuring timely sharing with the PALAM/A management to support informed decision-making.
Ensure the timely communication of feedback suggestions and complaints to the management through the designated feedback and reporting channels
Provide support and coordination in organizing programmatic training sessions and related activities.
