Job Summary

JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the general guidance of the Chef de Cuisine the Sushi Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes that meet brand standards. The Sushi Chef ensures consistency freshness and creativity while maintaining excellent hygiene and safety practices. This role collaborates closely with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences that uphold the restaurants reputation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and expertly craft a wide variety of sushi and sashimi dishes using traditional techniques while incorporating presentation styles to delight guests.
  • Ensure all ingredients used in sushi preparation meet strict freshness and quality standards performing regular inspections and maintaining optimal storage conditions.
  • Manage the sushi station efficiently during service coordinating with the kitchen and service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Maintain rigorous adherence to food safety hygiene and sanitation protocols in compliance with health regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee inventory control and ingredient procurement by forecasting needs minimizing waste and communicating effectively with suppliers.
  • Customize sushi dishes to accommodate guest dietary restrictions allergies and special requests ensuring guest satisfaction and safety.
  • Consistently ensure presentation standards are met delivering visually appealing dishes that reflect the elegance and quality of the brand.
  • Assist in daily setup and closing procedures of the sushi station ensuring all tools equipment and work areas are properly maintained and sanitized.
  • Monitor guest feedback related to sushi offerings and service implementing continuous improvements to elevate the dining experience.
